From the North Downs to the Lone Lands

Many sleepless nights in the North Downs and the Lone Lands has come to pass in the immediate past that had just transpired. There was much adventure and excitement to experience with a wonderful little fellowship I have had during that time. I decided to take Dwaros, who is a dwarf and somehow oddly my son, on this rather dangerous excursion towards Angmar to show him what his father, a wise old elf has been doing all these years. Upon meeting up with a lovely lady, the four of us went on our way to slay wargs, orcs, giants, and nefarious animals galore. Not only this, but we ventured out on an Epic Quest to slay some rather formiddable enemies. I must admit, we were unfortunately not powerful enough to defeat out foes, and I did have to make use of my ressurrection skill and even had to retreat in the end. However, this was not felt as a defeat, because of the dozen or so quests before embarking on that one were successful in every sense of the term. This has been a courageous day. I send me good cheer to all who were in the fellowship, as well as all those whom we had passed on their own quests. May we all defeat the Shadows of Angmar!

The haunting at the Great Barrows

What an eventful day! Twas full of excitement and good cheer, for sure. I had decided that I would venture out into the Barrows in order to inspect and assess the current situation. I did not, however, expect to become an intimate part of three fellowships that had gathered up hope and courage to delve into the Great Barrows. Such dread was to be met in these forsaken lands. Although I had been a part of three fellowships into the Barrows today, the one I would like to mention was the third and final one. This was the only fellowship that had been successful at defeating those insidious beasts and creatures that lie within those mountains.

This was primarily thanks to a level 60 soul that was feeling gracious enough to put us under her wing for the day while fighting nefarious foes in those wretched Barrows. The teamwork among the fellowship was phenomenal and was certainly a leading cause in our victorious day (I must say, I did celebrate afterwords with a pint of mead!). I had also learned new skills, collected highly rare and valuable ore from the Silver Deep Mine (ancient ore, mind you!), and made a new friend.I had the wonderful opportunity to do my first revival/resurrection of a member of the fellowship. The feeling that one gets when he or she performs such a feat is one of magnanimous empathy. When they revive, you jump for joy just as they do.

This was a most-victorious day and fantastic treasures abounded from my plunder of the forsaken Barrows. I do hope I will not have to venture into those lands for quite some time. I have had my fair share of Dead for quite a while. What adventures lie ahead? We shall see, we shall see.

Keg Races and Explorations

Today’s excursions brought me far from the land of Bree to the snow-covered mountains of Thorin’s Gate. Naturally, I first stopped in my hometown Celondim to speak with the village’s bard and minstrel, during which I was taught how to evade attacks, which will definitely come in handy. A visit to my village in the beautiful Ered Luin would not be complete if I hadn’t helped out some of the villagers. It was a wonderful time for all. I received bountiful gifts for my services, which will help me prepare for my journey back to Bree soon.

It was quite a merry time to behold at Thorin’s Gate. At the foot of the steps to Thorin’s Hall, I happened to stumble across quite an amusing dwarf keg race. There were around 5 dwarfs competing in a race with a twist. Naturally, no activity is complete for a wee little dwarf without an alcoholic beverage. During occasional checkpoints on the race circuit, I would laugh as they would take merry drinks of quite a potent brew, and sometimes become too tired to continue, followed by energetic dashes towards the finish. Unfortunately, the little dwarf I was betting my tokens on was the first to call it quits. What an unfortunate bet, albeit an entertaining one.

Finally, I decided it was time to wrap things up here by going siteseeing. I made a dash towards Amon Thanc, followerd by the Southern Barricade. I slayed a few dozen spiders and wolves along the way, keeping with the spirit of taming that which needs taming. I made my sleeping arrangements at the Silver Deep Mine trading post, after buying a contract for a key to one of the intriguing chests of ore. I shall see what magnificent splendor awaits me in the morning.

A victorious day!

Upon embarking on adventurous escapdes today, there was much excitement to be had. I had ventured out into the Old Forest for the first time, in which I found a few valiant souls that invited me to their fellowship, to which I eagerly joined to slay crawling spiders and walking trees galore. Such excitement was to follow after the deeds in the forest were done. Upn bidding farewell to my companions, I had ventured out to Adso’s camp to bring good cheer to his construction site, and so I had helped him with a few tasks he was having difficulty with. I don’t take kindly to those who wish to extort monies from poor little hobbits just trying to make an honest living in this wonderful Middle Earth. As nightfall crept upon us, I stayed the night at his humble little hobbit camp and and will continue my travels back to Bree Town in the morning, after a hearty meal of cooked carrots and rhubarb.
