About Me:
Hello! My names Matt, and I've been playing Lord of the Rings Online for quite some time now. I'm the proud leader of a great group of people, the Knights of Rhovanion. I live in Colorado, USA, and spend most of my time hiking 14k'ers or running around in forests. ;P When I'm not doing that, I'm slamming with my band (Photos supplied in my Gallery) or playing LotRO. I love roleplaying, so don't be afraid to drop a tell if you're interested in a little RP session. :) I've loved J.R.R Tolkien's writing for a long time, longer than I can remember, literally! My Dad used to sit and read me the Hobbit when I was little, and he even read the Silmarillion to me when I was four, & although I obviously didn't understand it at all, my father let me in on what was going on. :) I have a deep knowledge of the Lore of Middle Earth, and will be happy to discuss it with you, if you wish. Accordingly, I can't get enough of raiding - I've downed the Balrog enough times to know every nook and cranny of that room. :) I'm always open to new people, so shoot me a tell in game or a PM on lotro.com and I'll say hi back! :) If your interested in Joining Knights of Rhovanion, shoot me a tell or apply on the forums. (Search for any posts by Arathlo) Be sure, roleplayers and other players alike, to check my blogs for my bio, and I'd be glad if you reported it to be worthy of a featured blog! Enjoy the game my friends! :D

Well, I certainly have been neglecting my posts on My.Lotro.
To be honest real life has taken over alot of my game time, but I’m fine with it. In any case, I’m loving Landroval - Hell, I even got a chance to RP as I helped a group with the Epic Storyline.  If anything it was a challenge RPing about a storyline I had already completed and knew well. Defintely the highlight of my week.
Anyways, I hope to get back to more routine posts soon!

I’m now in Landroval, with the pathetic name Arathlo-1 Naurlang.
That should change soon. :)
No big Sindarin lesson from me today.. I’m too tired.

Rules on Sindarin Plurals.

Posted On: September 1st, 2009

Posted in: Sindarin

(I will be posting this and my Sindarin Dictionary on the Lorebook within a few days.)
I WILL REWRITE THIS RULESHEET SOON: THIS IS ONLY A ROUGH DRAFT

Pluralization Rules:

Consonants: Stay the same during pluralization

Vowels: In English, Plurals usually rely on the ending “-s”, in Sindarin, changing the vowels usually results in pluralization.

Pluralization Rules: (Valid for both Nouns & Adj.)

The Vowel A - An ‘a’ occuring in the final syllable turns into an ai when plualized. This rule applies when the final syllable is the only syllable. If there are more than one a’s in a word, all a’s except for the final a become an ‘e’. Example: Tâl = Tail, Barad = Beraid, Lavan = Levain

The Vowel E - In the final syllable of a word, e turns into i, in monosyllables aswell. Long ê pluralized becomes long î. If there is an I immediately before the e in the final syllable, ie becomes i. In Nonfinal syllables, e does NOT change when pluralized. Ei stays unchanged even in the final syllable.

The vowel I -  The vowel i does not change at all, even in the final syllable. There will always be another vowel other than i occuring in a word with the vowel i that will be changed, or it will be used in specific context to a i that stands alone. Example: Ithron = Ithryn, Glinnel = Glinnil.

The Vowel O - In the final syllable of a word, o becomes y. If io occurs as the final syllable, io = y. Example: Toll = Tyl, Amon = Emyn, Thalion = Thelyn. In non-final syllables, o usually becomes e. The exception is in some proper words, in which case o = a.

The Vowel U - Short u, both final and non-final syllable words, u=y. Example: Tulus = Tylys. Long û in final syllable becomes û=ui. Example: Cû = Cui Monosyllables apply for û

The Vowel Y - Y does not change reguardless. If a word has y in it, it is either already plural, or it is both singular and plural in meaning.

I’m suprised!

No, thats not sarchasm you smell.
I’m sincerely suprised with the result of opinions as far as the sindarin dictionary I posted yesterday turned out.  One or two rates and no comments..
Out of an entire language, I didn’t miss one word? No corrections for me? No critiques?
Forgive me, but I’m supsrised no one has something to correct.. I was kind of looking forward to any words I missed.

On an unrelated note:
I’m still waiting for my server transfer to Landroval: Turbine takes its sweet time with me.. :(

“A person is an inteligent being capable of many feats of the mind and body. People are mindless, stupid, panicky beings.” -Anonymous

It’d be nice if everyone was understanding. Then again, I guess if everyone happened to be so, you wouldn’t know who your true friends were.

Just a small rant, too tired for a story or good opinion today. :)

(Still waiting for an answer to my Landroval transfer request.)

Well, I was messing around on my forced labor crafting hobbit.. Er, my burglar and I couldn’t help but try rift armour from Arathlo on. This lead to one conclusion: LEGALIZE HOBBIT-CHAMPIONS!

Come on.. You can’t say that doesn’t look awesome. :)

Thats right!
It took me a long time to think about it, but Elendilmir has become too much like WoW for my taste.. I miss the good old RolePlaying and drama-free enviroments. I’ll miss the PvP, but thats about it.
Now, It won’t be Arathlo anymore, because someone stole that name on L! :(
So, time for me to think of an alternate name.
See you all there!

Otherwise known as Arathlo Naurlang’s current residence. Hes not one for living near Marshes, generally. But his profession requires him to be near a large centre of trade, Bree being the largest. He enjoys hiding under the leaves of the forest, as it reminds him of Mirkwood. Naturally, he has a well for all of his needs just outside the door. Placed near the side is a Statue of Gil-Galad, which always reminds him of a Warrior’s spirit. The other statue is kept in his yard, as it was a gift, and reminds him of the wisdom he must always carry on his journey.
He keeps a banner of the Free Peoples in plain sight, as it is his honour and duty to make known his allegiance to the Free Peoples of Middle Earth.
