Radiyah: we are gona have the meeting in our future hall
Erebron: I’ve started logging the officer chat so we have a record of the meeting.
Radiyah: k
Erebron: I’ll post the logs to our forum once that’s ready.

Erebron: All present and accounted for. Meeting is now in session.
Radiyah: Welcome…all to the 1st meeting of the officers of the shard!
Radiyah: In todays meeting we will discuss rules and suggestions to better the kin
Radiyah: and any other concerns anyone has.
Radiyah: The order will go from: Galira, Erebron, and then Aukon last
Radiyah: after u have all presented your cases will we discuss them
Radiyah: Ill start 1st.
Radiyah: I have 3 main rules i want to apply.
Radiyah: 1st: Be respectful to your fellow kinsmen.
Radiyah: 2nd: is for the officers mostly - Kin comes before self.
Radiyah: 3rd: Repersentation of the kin. You all repersent it, so be respect full to other players in the game.
Radiyah: Thats all for me.
Radiyah: Galira you have the floor
Galira: Well I’d like to address recruitment, mostly
Galira: We are currently a fairly small kinship and I enjoy that every much
Galira: However it is seldom that I come on and there are more than 2 or 3 people on, which somewhat restricts us from doing more fellowship oriented content
Galira: I’d like to suggest that we try and recruit more people while I am not advocating large scale advertising
Galira: Just if you group with someone who you notice doesn’t have a kinship, please offer them an invite
Galira: Ask them if they want in not just blindly invite them, thats just rude
Galira: Well thats all for, I’ll let Erebron have the floor now
Erebron: Since we’re small, we don’t need many rules.
Erebron: The things I’d like to see spelled out are:
Erebron: Criteria for booting someone from the kin…
Erebron: Criteria for qualifiying as an officer…
Erebron: And how we decide if someone is being a good officer.

Radiyah: Anyone have any comments?
Erebron: Well, with regard to the rules you proposed…
Erebron: …it would help set the tone better if you didn’t demote/promote Galira so much.
Erebron: I know it’s a joke, but maybe kinship channel isn’t the place for it?
Radiyah: Yes, that isnt a very good example of leadership but a might fine joke
Galira: I believe it just pops up when you do it, but I think Rad has gotten more used to the ability to demote/promote people on a whim
Radiyah: you know…got to keep them on their toes.
Radiyah: but yes…ill refrain from such activities
Erebron: I just think it can make it harder to draw a line between good fun/disrespect when the officers do that.
Erebron: By all means slag each other off in fellowship/im/officer chat.
Erebron: Just not in front the new recruits.
Radiyah: Alright, anything else

Aukon: we could put a post on the forums
Erebron: Yeah, it would be great if we had a standard recruitement message we could macro.
Radiyah: Alright ill work on that
Aukon: they have one specifily for it, so people looking on there would be looking for a kinship maybe
Aukon: I’ll change my title over my head to show my kin rank so if anyone asks I can let them in
Aukon: but we have to be carful of moochers
Galira: In addition, I have heard of an Arkenstone website someone has started, maybe we should register our kin there just to stay up on server happenings
Erebron: Which reminds me, we do need some common understanding of what’s a kickable offense.
Aukon: in azeroth i had some bad run ins with people that basicly want everything handed and done for them
Radiyah: yah we need to avoid those as much as possible
Radiyah: alright…kickables
Aukon: even going as far as robbing all a guilds bank when the trust was given
Radiyah: I want officers to be active…they will get 5 days max of inactivity, and after the 5th day they will be demoted
Radiyah: Unless they have sent a msg. saying they are unavailable
Radiyah: for the kinsmen
Aukon: but not booted? thats fair enouth. i for one could not play, and realized i had no way to let anyone know
Radiyah: thats is why we have forums set up
Radiyah: anyone can easily access those from any comp.
Aukon: i had no internet
Erebron: Maybe a warning the first time it happens?
Radiyah: alright thats fair enough
Galira: We could however hold a small officer meeting if they are unable to contact
Galira: Well to see if they have an acceptable reason for their absence and lack of contact, and they could be reinstated based on the group decision
Radiyah: Also for kinsmen they get 10days max, after that they are kicked…but send them a mail saying why they were kicked.
Aukon: i could have emailed from my phone, so perhaps set up a yahoo free shards of the broken crown email address
Radiyah: ok…done and done
Radiyah: ill set up a shards email later today
Aukon: cool. very cool
Erebron: I dunno, I think for a kinsman 10 days might be a little quick.
Aukon: i second that
Radiyah: alright. So does 20 days sound?
Erebron: I think 30 days might be better, if someone misses a payment they can still come back.
Radiyah: by that time, the person would have realized they havent came on for awhile
Aukon: accounts might expire, or people may go on vacation. but putting the email address on the forum and making sure all kinsmen have it, alot of probems could be resolved
Radiyah: actully what i was think is we kick um send them mail why, and if they want to join up again they can
Galira: Erebron has a point so the 30 days may be best and still mail them after that
Aukon: sounds fair, but i vote for 30 days also
Radiyah: k
Radiyah: but we keep the mail system in game
Radiyah: also if they are gona go for a loong time have them send a email to the shards email with name and why
Radiyah: and maybe for how long
Aukon: just in game subject matter you mean?

Radiyah: it was the idea from before… After we kick them..send them a in-game mail saying why they got kicked
Aukon: ok, i gots it
Radiyah: and we will be happy to have them back, whenever ever they log on
Radiyah: Also, if you have alts. plz keep them active
Radiyah: and inform everyone of your alts
Aukon: i was thinking of doing a dwarf gaudian actualy, which i meant to bring up
Radiyah: *if they alts are in the kin ofcourse*
Radiyah: Alright, do u want it to join the kin?
Aukon: what level minimum is a kin membership?
Erebron: I was just thinking - recruits should probably kicked after 10 days of inactivity, since they’re the most likely to never come back.
Aukon: yes
Radiyah: alright…warning and 5 days for officers
Radiyah: 30 days for kinsmen
Radiyah: and then 10 for recruits
Radiyah: btw there is no lvl. requirement
Aukon: ok, cool
Radiyah: we accpt all, unless they are a very high lvl. cause those guys uselly dont have anything to do
Radiyah: will have*

Galira: One more point on the days until kicked thing, how does it sound at the end of each time they get demoted, so theoretically officers have 45 days before they are kicked
Radiyah: yes…that could work
Aukon: plus with an email system there should be no problems
Radiyah: yup

Galira: Well with officers I think anyone can come to other officers with a concern
Erebron: There’s only a few of us at the moment, so talking things over in officer chat may be sufficient.
Galira: That was going to be my second point, actually it would have to come to the other officers if it becomes a big problem
Galira: such as a council setting
Aukon: problems you mean? Like a vote on booting someone?
Radiyah: if a officer cont. to commit offences they will get 3 warnings…after that they get demoted
Galira: yes to vote on booting someone, if the problem is very obvious
Aukon: Ok, so I said to a new recruit that “I must say that this is a good kinship” etc., and then i said “I must say that or else I’ll get booted.” Was that inappropriete. I got no response.
Aukon: ?
Radiyah: …
Erebron: It would be in kinship chat.
Erebron: In a private IM or fellowship it would only be a problem if there was a complaint.
Erebron: And usually they would assume you’re joking.
Erebron: But of course if we knew that was happening we’d call you out on officer chat and issue a citation.
Aukon: Wel. I said it in kinship, but no response. I felt kind of bad, it was just a joke
Galira: If it was clearly a joke it would only have been in bad taste, but not a real problem (unless it happens often)
Erebron: Yeah, the main thing with officers cracking jokes in kinship is just one of tone.
Erebron: People start pushing the boundaries of good taste until someone gets kicked.
Galira: I am unclear if you meant it for group chat or kinship though
Aukon: Oh, the new kin member said he was new, and I went on about how everyone is frindly and helpful and stuff. And a hearty welcome.
Galira: ok I see, yea I suppose it was nothing more than a joke in bad taste and nothing else
Aukon: I started it with “I must say”, and after the fact played on the I must say thing
Aukon: I forgot my point
Erebron: OK, I need to get going - is there anything else that we need to sort?
Aukon: not I

Galira: Umm officer council if there are serious unresolvable problems, but Rad has final say, unless the whole kin is against it (sorry Rad)

Galira: On a side note we will also be extending diplomatic relations to other kinships to try and form alliances, so far kinships include Guardians of the White Tree and Shadowfax
