    About Our Kinship…

    Mae Govannen!
Barangolrim is a friendly, casual, family oriented, low drama kinship on Meneldor. It was founded around a small group of folks who had already known each other in real life, and carried that friendship into the game. Over time, we have greatly increased our numbers until we’ve grown to include members from all over the world.

Our ultimate goal is to help each other out, and have fun. Senior members (officers and higher level characters) take it upon themsleves to help the newer members out. All we ever ask is that kinfolk “pay it forward” to the next generation of kinfolk when they hit the higher levels.

From the beginning, Barangolrim has been a family oriented kinship. Many of the founders had their young sons and daughter join them. With that in mind we’ve always kept an eye out for the younger mmembers of the kin, and avoid the use of profanity in kinchat. Since many of us are parents ourselves, we try to keep the kin a “safe zone” for people to have their children play in, and even members who have moved on to different kinships have been known to leave their youngsters with us.

I am often asked what our kinship name means. Here is the answer:
Baran = A golden brown color
Gollo/Collo = A cloak or mantle (there being no direct translation of the word “coat”)
-rim = A suffix meaning “the host of” or “the people of”.
    “Barangolrim” = Browncoats!

Safe travels to you, and don’t be afraid to stop us to chat!
