a quick thought. i don’t know how many people actually get this simple concept in lotro. love is greater than gold or rank. maybe i spend too much time in the moors…maybe…where infamy and renown are king and queen (you pick which is which). i was having this conversation last night though with one of my good moors friends: it’s more about people than infamy/renown.

her view was simple. you give players access to loads of quick renown….they achieve high rank, they get bored, they leave.

makes sense to me. i would trade every point of renown and rank on AO, OE, AE, QEE and QQO combined to be able to have even twice as large of a friends list in game. they are what keep me logging in and coming back for more. yes content is cool, but hearts are what rule for me. i’ll give you my heart if you give me yours. just don’t ask me to pay for it. the best things in the world are not things.

thinking i am gonna be rank 9 on ao by the weekend!!! it has been a long long time at rank 8…sorta like rank 6 time span. i think i have over 1200 kb’s now, something like 3300 deaths…highest rank killed still just 1940. it’s remained fun for me the whole time book by book, troll by troll, dot by dot always been fun! thanks 2 all my friends and fiends. *hugs****it’s gonna be weird having a new icon but i think i get a new color too!!

*smiles* i have been taking a break from the forums lately, since mylotro started up *smiles*. now that there’s a new book, i really needed to go back and read up a bit. i have, though, been having to sift through a ton of “fail” “failzor” “failz” “book of fail” posts just to find any useful information. really not surprised. but, since i have my own mylotro website (hehheh) i decided to show how i would recommend people should really respond to their discovered disdain for this new book (SEE ABOVE). this will really help u a lot if u do EXACTLY as the gentleman in this photograph, the dog or the pony…until book 8 comes out, then we’ll do a reassessment.

lag…there i said it!! one of the dirtiest words in all of gaming. so dirty it lost its 4th letter somewhere in the interwebs due to who knows what. we’ve all had it in some way, at some point and for some amount of time that might have sent us to the lifestone/deathcircle or “out for a smoke”. what is the deal with this l*g stuff? well, I HAVE NO IDEA!! i just know that i must make lag my friend or better yet, make friends with lag (see what i did there?).

when i first started gaming online, playing asheron’s call back on 06-08-00 (yes i know my birthdate on ac because of /played command, or whatever it was, a bragging point) i was playing on a dell latitude laptop. now i call it a coaster. anyway, i was SO below the basic specs for that game that i could not even think about any type of real world exploration. instead i spent my first year inside dungeons, lurking/inhabiting/anti-camping. my lovely patron, asudem, would log into my acct on her puter and move me from one dungeon to another for me, email me where i was and then i’d log back in and hunt with her. sound fun? well, it was!!! poor asudem, i’d loot and loot and loot and she’d log in nightly to run my char to town to sell and run me back. if i tried to run to town on my puter i’d just see a frozen screen while my char was autorunning halfway across the map even while disconnected!

well, asudem was already a close close friend but i think these favors made us even closer friends. she’d keep me in awesome dungeons and i’d loot stuff and inscribe sho-jersies with little “*hugs asudem* inscriptions for her to see when she checked if it should be sold or not. then i’d log back in to the sweetest notes a friend could get and a couple of “X” notes (the roman numeral) or “M’s” if i had been there long enough!

so what does all this mean? i had a crappy computer, yet i gamed anyway and i made a very close friend in the process who i dearly love and would take a bullet for. simply put, i love the effect lag has had on me.

crafting in lotro takes dedication, apparently more than i have to advance in this useful activity. i do have 3 gm’s *shrugs* tailor (ae), scholar (oi) and jeweler (io). my main (ao) is a weaponsmith. i have a lot of respect for those that can advance these crafting thingys so fast! omg there’s actually a lot of sm’s out there! and then there’s this guild thing that i haven’t even walked into…i really need to get in there. well, the upside is that i won’t be without things to do or new activities, even after finishing a ton of quests on ao. i’ll get there, someday *smiles*

i live in nyc. we have rodents. as of today, we have one less rodent.

i have had my bad experiences with pugs b4. almost all resolved with /ignore or by clicking ‘leave fellowship’. but yesterday i heard someone say, “this is why i don’t pug, EVER!” they were describing a failed attempt at something. i guess they only wanna grp with kin or friends, cool by me 4 them to do that. hey i have had some AWFUL pug experiences too, very recently too. but i won’t give up on them. there’s nothing better than a flawless run through somewhere, hitting every single cj precisely and fair rolls, etc. but there’s a lot to be said for finding a grp of total unknowns and succeeding, despite never having met. basically, it’s how i have met everyone i know in game (except 2 AC friends *smiles* hi boli and asudem!). i think i am gonna try to stick up for the pug aesthetic more often when ppl are down on it. it’s gonna be tough because most ppl have their minds made up to never pug again. but hey, pugs can be fantastic. see the above photo for example.

when my kin leader, Morgus, told me that the mount in moria was a goat, i laughed at him and told him i wasn’t born under a cabbage leaf/didn’t fall off the watermelon truck/wasn’t 2 excedrine tablets short of a full medicine cabinet/hadn’t lost all my marbles, etc. well, he was right of course and has never steered me wrong. really must say at this point i have an awesome kin leader. he’s still lvl 55 and has been playing his main most of the time since MoM release i think. that’s just, wow, i thought i had lvl’d slowly when everyone in the moors kept saying, “Ao hurry up and lvl already!!” well, i did and now i am working on getting a new mount. thus far, these goats have just been driving me nuts tho. first off, they smell. i know, they’re goats, they eat trash and who knows what else! secondly, they have big heads. i mean, enORMOUS! …i don’t wanna go further on that subject. thirdly, i want one, i think…i really dunno…i mean do i have to give up my horsie? i love my horsie. he doesn’t have a name, but he’s really cool. so grind grind grind, a lot a lot a lot and someday i’ll get my own goat (cosmic).

“there will be a jillion high level runekeepers soon” someone said to me yesterday in game. why? because they are a really exciting class to play!!! u see ur enemy…u pull a couple of rocks out of ur pocketses…u set them on fire/zap them with a lightning bolt/turn them into an ice-cube…end of story. let’s try not to talk about the purse…my rk, Oe, will be one of those jillions. i have taken the time to lvl Ao to 60 (yesterday YAY!!) Ao is my main, my minstrel and my first char outside of closed beta. but my other two lvl 50’s have only made it to 51…Oe is 33…no 34!! i just love this char…i can’t stop. and it seems like the speed at which i have lvl’d is kinda insane…rk’s go really reall fast!! or maybe i am just used to trying to lvl a minstrel. ppl say lvling a mins is real slow. not sure i ever noticed…not sure i can finish this before i …yep logging onto my rk

this will be my new desktop….quite possibly forever!!! 

yay i can’t wait to go to mordor!!! no i didn’t hear news of a mordor release date. no i have no idea what i am talking about. and this post isn’t even about mordor really. but i am excited for whatever comes next in lotro!! it’s been a very short while since the mines of moria release. but GREAT things are already happening for me in lotro. i am pretty speechless and would still be thought to be babbling incoherently if i even tried to sum up anything at all (awesome awesome awesome…just remember that).

one of many amazing things has happened though. an old friend of mine from asheron’s call recently popped up in my chat screen with a tell, “hi mxl!!!” in AC i was known by my forum name here, mxlplkt mxl. …don’t ask. well you could and i’d tell you but, yes i know. vowels now, consonants before…this is not about me.

anyway, MY FRIEND IS BACK!!! i am so happy she’s here too. so far we have grouped twice. i am psyched to explore with her, get lost, make introductions to my lotro friends i have made since we last gamed together…simply wonderful. so…am i babbling yet? i am so happy! the end.

so i have been lvling my runkeeper lots (27!!) and am really enjoying it!! as you may know from a previous post, i am all minstrel-y most of the time. and the RK class lets me fulfill that ‘need’ to serve. but now it’s time for damage. i loved the description someone said when they called the RK a”glass cannon”…how cool is that? i’ll answer: HELLA hella cool.

one of my other favorite things about the RK is the bouncing pet rock. great idea turbine! now i have rocks in my pockets in game AND in real life too!!! next up, pet snail.

this is one of my very first screenshots (L to R: Gandalf, Frodo and Elrond) from um… beta alpha beta. notice how awesome the graphics are even for beta alpha beta!! i took a lot of screenies back then so not sure of the location…i think it’s the dead spire in the barrows. back then dread was pink instead of orange.

this was a fun night in the city when the game went live or something. although i never even went inside i did wait in line and geek out a lil bit with some nazgul…notice they are suspiciously close to the DONUT SHOP (MAWorking must b the one on the far end…). also note that new yorkers don’t flinch at the sight of these guys. dread in NYC must be higher than nazgul. they just keep going and keep buying hotdogs. this was the only pic i took but i loved it and always will. 

i have always been a minstrel in lotro. even on my other chars i am always thinking like a minstrel. i just love this class so much. i know it’s not the most complex class and when it comes to the big boss fights the fellow or raid leader goes through a diatribe of, “guardian do this and champ do that, then at this specific time the LM does this other thing”….ten minutes later i usually chime in with, “hey y’all, i’ll heal ok?” they say, “yeah, stand over there.” then i prep for success, pop a string, realize i have zero food and wait for the red squiggly over the baddy so i can start spamming my heals. LOVE IT!! 

yeah i tried other classes, lots of which were fun too. i have a burg (who is cute but confused), a LM (confused) and some other stuff i think a guardian who is lvl 20 GM scholar (that always cracks me up). and i have a new runekeeper (OE). i got a nice compliment from someone the other day when i was on my RK. they asked if i was Ao. i said yes. they said well i knew it because the heals were like a minstrel. so i think i love the RK class as well. yeah…i need to take some screenshots of my RK…hmmm

but i love minstrels. i really do. oh also i should say i don’t care what changes they made to minstrels so far, they r awesome still.
