“Do you have a trout?”

For this was no ordinary quest. Nery and Momma Judy were on a quest to find a RL rainbow trout for fishslapping. After many disappointments they arrived at a great wilderness contained in a tiny space and were rewarded with not one, but TWO trouts!

There was rejoicing.

There was laughter.

There was singing.

There was dueling.

So Now, with a happy heart Nery may return home victorious in her quest.

NERY AND THE N’S CAN GO TO FOROCHEL AND THE HIGH PASS!!!1!!

It is truly a banner day and is all due to Klyth. As a surprise for *(R)’s birthday, which is tomorrow, Klyth got her a new motherboard, processor, memory, and monitor! There are also rumors of a new case coming later on today! *gasp*

Unfortunately after the Goblin Town content update (back in late 2007), they changed the mechanic for snow effects which caused (R)’s computer to suffer half a dozen versions of the blue/black/frozen/whatisthat screens of death. Since that time every hardware piece in (R)’s computer has been changed except for the motherboard (Abit AT8 32x). Now with a new fangled board (precariously balanced on the desk), it was time to finally give Nery the chance to head out to Forochel without near instant crashing.

Nery went riding around Forochel hunting for snow storms (finding only mild flurries) for roughly half an hour without the slightest hiccup. Also, the graphics settings are now on Ultra High with DX10 (which also was not working before).

After dying in the freezing waters of Forochel (due to *squee-ing about how quickly screenshots save now {it is unlikely that Nery will cause any more group wipes for the sake of screenies}) Nery headed toward the High Pass to investigate the snow fall in that area.
Unfortunately Nery kept getting waylaid by Ore……
It wasn’t all in vain though, it afforded the chance to admire some rather impressive shadows.

The greatest implication of this, is that the Alliance will no longer be able to duck Nery’s fiendish desire to /fishslap. Previously it had been established by Mm (a hunter) that the best way to avoid a friendly /fishslapping was to port to Forochel where Nery could not follow. Alas, there is no longer a safe haven.

Ah hahaha!!! It’s a joke, get it! “Back in the Swing of Things” and then Nery is being swung by Mr. WatcherPants….. It’s a joke… maybe not a very good one… hmm, I’ll work on that.

So this post is just to help me get back into the swing of whipping up blogs. Life has been changing lately and so my posting rhythm is a bit off. It’s also hard to write excited blogs about instances that I’ve done multiple times and already posted fun pictures of. So it would appear that Nery and the N’s need a change of scenery. This will come in the form of doing more exploration through Lothlorien and as Nerice gets to Forochel and Tal Bruinen there will be lots of fun things for her to explore that Nery missed out on.
Until the girls get cracking on the alternate areas here are a few silly screenies for your enjoyment.
Sometimes using your “inside voice” doesn’t work when you need folks to form a line. So Nery stepped up to the plate, put on her big girl pants and loudly informed everyone to form a line. They promptly did so, illustrating that being loud isn’t always a negative.

Everyone enjoyed being in a line so much that they decided to get on their mounts and stand in a line looking at Stilli. He felt a little uncomfortable about this and proceeded to shuffle his feel wondering if the best way to escape would be to his left or right. Sadly, the answer was 42 which didn’t help him escape at all and Stilli was trompled. (Yes, trompled is a word. Maybe not in your world, but it is in mine.)

Recently Nerice attended a party at The Inkling Kinhouse. Although she was excited to be invited, it came with great shock that it was actually a clothing optional event. Not wanting to offend her hosts, Nerice stripped down to her under armour and had a grand time.

Nerice has been doing the occasional afternoon of questing with her pal Leo and his tiny burglar. While waiting for the monsters to respawn the two of them took a moment to enjoy the lovely campfire and chat about life and why Neri can’t watch some YouTube videos that Leo can just because of their regional difference.

And now for the “random and inexplicable reference to cannibalism”.

Today Nerice got to play with Leo’s little burg and Drus’ cappy. It was by far the most fun I have had in ages!!! Sadly, i was too busy having a good time to take any Screenie’s of our big day out. Let’s just say this though, there was talk of grumpy moods, hangovers, girl hugs being superior due to squishiness, and perhaps a suicidal cliff jump when Leo was afk.

Hopefully this will all continue tomorrow and there will be many Screenies to share with you.

NERYSSA GOT A FIRST AGE BURGLAR SWORD! OMGxinfinity! That’s right, INFINITY!

Okay, I’ll stop acting like Kanye West, Caps Lock abuse is a serious issue people. Serious, not Surius. K.

So it all happened on Saturday night, I had Nerice out in the North Downs doing who knows what, and all of a sudden Lothi shouts in Alliance chat “NERY, I NEED YOU”. It wasn’t exactly like that, but that’s how I remember it. BACKOFF FATHAT I’M EXAGERATING HERE!

When Lothi summons it is only the greatest dunces that do not instantly comply with her wishes. Within moments I had switched to Neryssa and was promptly summoned to the 21st hall by the always fun Taemyr. A trade was initiated by Lothi and BOOM there is a first age burglar sword in the window.

I instantly experienced panic, joy, excitement, fear, gratitude, adoration, shock, bewilderment. It was later verified that it was a Class A1 conniption (sans anger) or better known in the alliance as a “joygasm”.

Come to find out that the Alliance raid that went to do the turtle did not have a burglar in the group and the one person who had a burglar alt declined to accept the item in favor of giving it to me. So it is with deepest gratitude that I will now be naming my first born child Akazar in honor of that sacrifice.

The whole gaggle of folks accompanied me to the 21st hall crafting room where I inspected it and instantly deconstructed every weapon I had (including my second age dagger and second age mace, it is the price I always knew I would pay) affording me enough IXP runes to instantly level the sword to 41.

Once all of the reforges were done I was left with a beautiful weapon in need of a name. Despite my best efforts to come up with something uber and totally l33t there was only one name that seemed to fit.
The Sword of Friendship.

It is with unbridled gratitude that I thank Akazar, Lothi, Taemyr, Q, HB, Band, Galkus, Wez, Morawyn, Maedhrin, Raksomthingoranother (Rakvalin), and Icthelion.

After identifying the item and dropping some settings/gems/runes into it I was far to excited to go right to bed. Instead I did a crafting instance to get the last couple of tokens needed for a 190K rune and to get some screenshots of its beauty.

Although this should have quelled my giddy excitement, the shocking speed that things died only proved to make me more excited! It was understandable then that I agreed to go on a mostly Inkling 2.4.7 run where Aalim (a.k.a. Roelle) set up the BEST “that’s what she said”. Even better than the one I did in the moors with Leo a while back.

So here’s how it went. Adeema was leading us around and he went link dead so we were all yammering about whether we should press on and if so in what direction. Then he said it. Three words that make me giggle like a crazy person.

[Fellowship] Aalim: always go deeper

That’s right. Always… go… deeper… How I wished to be a man at that moment, and then realized that I didn’t care of being chauvinistic is typically reserved for the phallic gender. I owned it and threw out a “that’s what she said” and never looked back.

We continued to be childish and had a wonderful time of it while killing a bunch of bugs.

After finishing up 2.4.7 I asked Aalim if he would mind popping over to my house for a quick photo shoot. It was with unending joy that I secured screenshots of my fourth officer of The Inklings on my bed. Aalim proved to be a bit rowdier than the others and was seen beckoning to nobody in particular, /flirting, and even at one point cheesing it up enough to get Nery to jump on the bed. But only for a second! And literally there was only jumping going on!

So until the next exciting adventure, or picture opportunity (not to be confused with tanking opportunities), have fun, play safe, and make the hobbit put a raincoat on!

One or more (scholars maintain that the actual number was lost) of the group deaths may have been caused due to Neri having had a cocktail (or five) and subsequently falling off of bridges, cliffs, into lakes, and all manner of unreachably deadly places.

It had been quite a while since any of the N’s had forayed into the North Downs and Neri was startled to see that the wildlife was turning on each other. This obvious Lynx on Lynx violence disheartened her and she hopes that this won’t be the downfall of the region. What is Middle Earth coming to when vicious cat fights can happen on any path?
::sigh::
It is a sad state we’re in.

Neri’s worry over the population of the area was further compounded when she was met by a gaggle of men attired in common peasant dresses. How is it that the warriors sworn to protect our realm can’t even afford proper armour? This concern was soon assuaged when a guardian within the group challenged Neri to spar with him. At first she questioned how he intended on protecting himself with naught but a couple rags for protection. It soon became apparent that those rags were simply a diversion hiding his heavy armour and the four levels of experience he had over her.
His footwork was fancy, his armour thick, and his morale reduced to 1/4th of its max. Not too bad of a showing on Neri’s part for her first spar and considering his obvious advantages. He seemed to agree.

Soon Neri grew weary and retired for the night allowing Nery to come out and play for a while.
While preparing for her ensuing adventure Nery went by her house to discover that one of her favorite Lore Master’s had stopped by for a nap. Ordenwulf (although typically more interested in the activities of Ody’s bedroom) had made himself rather comfortable and was keen to discover if he had greater prowess than his predecessors. He did not.

When Orden’s first attempt failed he tried to spice up the offer by bringing in his pet Eagle. Although amusing, Nery doesn’t approve of or participate in things like that.

His attempts were in earnest, but at the end of the day Nery spent the night alone staring at her canopy wondering why the lights in her house are always on.

(note: In no way are Nery’s comments about The Inklings men intended to disparage or insinuate that they have or ever will make improper advances. They are simply good sports who indulge Nery’s odd desire to have a picture of each of the officers in/on her house bed. Thank you for all for playing along.)

It’s okay though, I’ll go and get a coffee, stalk my friends on facebook and maybe watch an episode of Fringe, or something.

Since there is an hour of downtime, I would like to get people opinions.

Do you have a preconceived idea of what the person on the other end of the toon looks like?

Do you make assumptions about basic parameters simply do to the fact that they are playing an MMORPG?

1.Instances with friends who bring their “A game”
Although it was agreed that we had somehow misplaced our “A game” in the confusion, it is still nice to play with friends. Today Nery joined three of her favorite friends Leo, Mrs. Cakes and Shish in DD. Annador and Drewxth, whom Nery met on Monday, were also present for the run.

2./Fishslap
Since the spring festival, Nery has enjoyed the utterly silly nature of /fishslap and was overjoyed when it was decided that everyone should /slap Drewxth while we waited for our skills to cooldown.

3.Being Punted
Although punts typically end in death they are still great fun to experience. While trying to kill the final boss of DD, there was an unfortunate moment when most of the fellowship suffered his punty wrath. Our best efforts to interrupts and slay him where thwarted by his superior abilities.

We have vowed to not let the monster escape our vengeance and intend on bringing the full force of Mrs. Cakes Pimp-Hand-of-Righteousness down on him tomorrow, or the day after, or Friday, or this weekend, or however long it takes to kill him.

4.Hanging out in my house doing silly things
After the particularly deadly run through DD it was necessary to recall the home neighborhood and repair armor, restock food, and enjoy some quiet time by the fireplace. Approaching the neighborhood general store I was greeted by Leo who asked what I was doing in his kinship neighborhood. I promptly informed that it is where my house is and invited him over to see it.

There was much merriment as Leo proceeded to try on all of the dresses, informing me that it was less about wearing them and more about getting to smell them. This caused minor concern to Nery, but was soon forgotten when he attempted to follow in the footsteps of his Monarch, Ody.

Although Nery has now had two Inkling men in her bed in as many days, she has yet to join any of them and is profoundly amused at their valiant attempts to sway her. Although Leo was unsuccessful in getting Nery to join him in the red canopy bed, he did stay for the night since it was getting late in the evening.

Nery finished the day deeply satisfied and content with the joy her friends bring to a world that could quickly become flat and empty without them.

She is quickly becoming the new favorite in the menagerie of alts hanging around the toon list. This is in part due to her impeccable social skills and AOE damage. Having faithfully played a burglar for two years it is nice to handle multiple mobs with less precision and more of a smash and grab style. Mezzes be damned, I’m AOE-ing here fathats! This attitude will have to be curbed once she begins playing in groups, until then there will be great joy and squealing over the silly amount of damage being strewn all about.

The newest N greatly enjoys socializing with all of her friends and was thrilled when Ody stopped by for tea recently. Unfortunately Ody had more than just tea on his mind.

Sheepishly, Ody resigned himself to the fact that Neri simply isn’t that kind of girl. Instead of being dejected and slinking away, he took the chance to slip into Neri’s closet and make light of the evening and himself.

In other news: Neryssa accompanied some friends to DD where she derived great amusement from the obvious adoration of alliteration.
